While there are currently no FDA approved indications for SARMs, researchers are investigating the possible therapeutic uses for these substances. Early clinical trials have shown strong indications for use of SARMs in the therapy of prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy, bladder cancer, hypogonadism and breast cancer. Because the benefits of the use of sarms are not fully understood, there is some concern about the possible harmful consequences of their use. The reports of adverse events have not been consistent across different studies. However, there are cases in which the benefits of their use appear to outweigh the risks. One study that compared the effects of liquid flaxseed oil and heat on inflammatory bowel disease found no significant difference in either disease.
There are also concerns about the use of sarms with cancer. One study found that women who had pre-existing breast cancer were at significantly greater risk of developing sarcomas. However, the risk appeared to be lower for women with existing breast cancer than for those without the disease. It is unclear why this is the case.
Another study of cancer survivors found that those who used heat therapy and liquid flaxseed oil had a lower cancer risk than those who did not receive these treatments. Overall, the beneficial effects of the use of sarms are not clear. However, these studies provide the first evidence that sarms may play an important role in combating some forms of cancer. While additional research is needed to determine the overall benefit of sarms for cancer patients, they do provide new information about the possible benefits of their use for other conditions and injuries.
